Every character, including many of the side characters, receive additional development that helps them to become authentic and refreshing. Once again, I love the cast of characters in this series. The power dynamics in this story are captivating and complex, and I’m desperate for more. I really love the direction Marissa Meyer has taken with the second installment in terms of how superheroes are viewed and how supervillains are treated. Morals are questioned, friends become suspects, and tensions are higher than ever. Conflict goes far beyond what we already know of the Renegades’ power and the Anarchists’ will for vengeance.
